First Record – I was running very short on time having just arrived at the bottom of Bally Mountain after being drenched by a shower but I didn’t want to go home yet so I stole a couple of minutes to have a quick look at a side track that went through an open grassed area. From a distance I thought the little birds where Brown Thornbill’s so was a bit quick on my approach and didn’t spend as much time as I would have liked to get some decent shots. A review of the photos later and I discovered they were Striated Thornbill, a bird I have been looking for for a long time. Got the tick, but now need some decent shots.
